Be warned: this is a pop group named in an obvious attempt to spoof the "Three Tenors" and, on the cd booklet cover, "The Sopranos" television program. I say this in spite of the information that the singers are "classically trained" (of course they are; what other kind of "training" is there?) and that one of the songs on the disk was written by somebody who also wrote a piece of classical music, and that they all perform in tuxedos. They are described as "hot." They are on tour. They have "fans" and a website, to which any further curiosity should be directed as all the customary information is there in the customary format. If on the cover they strive for a formidable Cosa Nostra mood, on the back cover of the program booklet they look like just the funnest bunch of guys ever to spend an hour in a locker room with.

They are very conservative for a current pop group, with a basically Broadway sound, shading into "early Beatles." The lyrics of the original songs are reminiscent of John Lennon, but the origin is at once given away by the rhyming of ‘dawning’ with ‘morning.’ One or more of the group may take a solo, backed up by the others singing doo wap or they may all perform as a men’s chorus. The backup instrumentalists change for each song, and their names are given in the booklet. The instrumental accompaniments are varied and quite competent, and the singing is generally spirited, on pitch and on the beat, or correctly off the beat as required. The overall effect is not unpleasing — if you like this sort of thing.
